modularPower -- Compute the modular power.

Synopsis

Usage:

modularPower(a,b,p)
Inputs:
- a, an integer,
- b, an integer, positive.
- p, an integer, prime.
Outputs:
- an integer, in 0,...,p-1 representing a^b in $\mathbb{Z}/p\mathbb{Z}$.

Description

Computes the b-th power of a in $\mathbb{Z}/p\mathbb{Z}$. This function is here to also deal with large p.
