getRank -- get the rank of a free OI-module

Synopsis

Usage:

getRank F
Inputs:
- F, an instance of the type FreeOIModule,
Outputs:
- an integer,

Description

Returns the rank of a free OI-module. Recall that the rank of a free OI-module $\bigoplus_{i=1}^s\mathbf{F}^{\text{OI}, d_i}$ is defined to be $s$.

i1 : P = makePolynomialOIAlgebra(2, x, QQ);

i2 : F = makeFreeOIModule(e, {1,1,2}, P);

i3 : getRank F

o3 = 3
